*EDITED BY WIKI STAFF: Only *ONE* new episode is confirmed. Season 5 has not been announced as of March 4, 2023. Changed post title to reflect this.
A short wiki announcement for any lingering editor who stumbles upon thisβ
As of February 2023, all episode transcripts are to use SubRip (.SRT) subtitle format. This format sees widespread adoption and is the more popular captioning format.
This is a change from our previous transcripts' formatting as SubViewer (.SUB/.SBV), which sees even less usage since the disconinuation of YouTube's community captions program in 2021. .SBV captions are no longer readily available to download from YouTube.
Pre-existing .SBV transcripts may easily be converted to .SRT format through the multitude of existing converters. e.g. https://dcmp.org/learn/532-converting-youtube-sbv-subtitles-to-subrip-srt-format
If you see an episode page not displaying a transcript, please consider assisting the wiki by converting the existing .SRT transcipt β or β fabricating new captions in one of the many SubRip captioning applications available.
More details on this process will be available at https://campcamp.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Importing_YouTube_subtitles
For a long while now, many character pages on this wiki have adopted tabbers despite not being a part of the standardized character page format that has been established at the start of this wiki.
This post was a long time coming; way overdue. Here goes.I'm sure the tabbers were introduced here with good intentions, but unfortunately this has caused various issues around the wiki including causing messes on the main page, making root article pages barren on mobile devices and harder to navigate, making root article pages more difficult for new editors to modify (e.g. "Max" cannot be edited; editor must already know that "Max/Overview" et al. is to be edited instead), and possibly the creation of unnecessary extraneous article subpages (such as the "Affiliations" page on some articles).
Unfortunately, we had never formally addressed this issue until nowβ as starting now we now have a proper tabber setup that should fix all the problems listed above and can be seen now on the Cameron Campbell page. It won't exactly be a trivial task to convert the current pages, but it won't be necessarily exceedingly difficult either. However, before a full conversion is forgone we must properly discuss this as a standard now, including what subpages should be kept, and which subpages should be re-introduced in the article overview, if any.At this point in time, it appears that the common character subpages include Overview, Affiliation (AKA Relationships), Gallery, Quotes, and Designs.
Overview pages will be moved back to the base article page (e.g. moving Max/Overview content back to Max), and the Gallery pages that existed before the introduction of the tabbers will remain.
Besides the root article page and the gallery subpages (already allowed by current policy), the fate of the other subpages are up in the air. Please comment below concerning which of the following subpages you believe should be kept on all or most pages:
I'm honored you read this far, but tbh, I spent way too long typing all this up. Imma get back to you on this, but thanks for your interest in helping with this conversion.
Seeing how how the Cameron Campbell page is setup may be helpful, however.
